Sizzling summer box office

Summer kicks off with the $135 million blockbuster Pearl Harbor, but doesn't stop there. In June, Angelina Jolie takes on Tomb Raider, Eddie Murphy's back with Dr. Dolittle 2, John Travolta plays the bad guy again in Swordfish and don't forget Steven Spielberg's latest, A.I.
In July, Tim Burton "reinvents" Planet of the Apes, while Sam Neil returns to the island in Jurassic Park III. The Wayans are ready for another romp with Scary Movie 2, while Final Fantasy makes the leap from video game to silver screen. Cinematic greats Robert De Niro and Marlon Bradon team up in The Score while Julia Roberts is back with America's Sweethearts.
Comedy sequels are the norm as the summer winds down, with American Pie 2, Rush Hour II and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back all ready to do battle. There's plenty of original comedies, too, as Bubble Boy, Osmosis Jones and Serendipity make their debuts. August still has action, though, with Rollerball and John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars.
